A BETTER LIFE
I deleted comment #9 on my last post. My blog had been read and it was determined that I sorely needed further education. My life could be so much better if I called the phone number. "They" would get that degree for me and I could get a job that would be worthwhile.
In the film NIGHT ON EARTH a Hollywood agent (Gena Rowlands) realizes that her taxi driver (Winona Ryder) would be the perfect starlet for her next movie. The cabbie is asked to be in this movie and told that all the wealth and fame she could ever want would be hers. The driver lets the agent know that she just couldn't do that. A movie career would interfere with her desire to have her own auto repair shop someday.
OK. I would take the movie offer but the moral of this story is that one takes their happiness where they find it.
I got my first computer early in the Summer of 2004, and began blogging almost immediately. Thanks to blogging I have been a part of several newspapers and online blogs. By that August I was featured in the lead story of the Tech Section in the San José Mercury News. Then what a pleasant surprise it was to find that my blog, "Taxi Vignettes" was the reason I was chosen as the best local blogger of the year (2006) by the Metro Newspaper. Fall of '06, I was contacted by a reporter, asking if I would be willing to be the topic of her next story in The Willow Glen Resident. It was a cool two pages including photos. Am I having fun yet?
